Centralized System Alerts & Notifications
Stay informed of cellular drops, carrier tower handoffs, SIM swaps, and hardware reboots.

How QManager Alerts Work#
Traditional routers send email alerts when internet goes down. But if internet is down, email cannot be sent!
QManager solves this with a Dual-Channel Notification Strategy:
- Email Alerts (Post-Recovery): Sent once WAN connectivity is restored, providing full incident report, downtime duration, and recovery tier details.
- SMS Control Channel Alerts (During Outage): Sent during the active outage over the cellular baseband control channel via
sms_tool, reaching your phone even while the IP data link is completely offline!
Cellular Control Channel Alerts#
- Reaches you even if data routing is frozen.
- Features de-duplication to prevent SMS spam during transient tower flickers.
- Configurable threshold (e.g. only alert if outage exceeds 5 minutes).
Email (SMTP) Alert Configuration#
Configure lightweight msmtp in Messages > Alert Settings:
- Host:
smtp.gmail.com(or any custom SMTP server) - Port:
587(STARTTLS) or465(TLS) - App Password authentication.
