Manual Offline Tarball Installation

For field deployments without active WAN connectivity, air-gapped industrial routers, or offline testing, QManager provides standalone .tar.gz release bundles.

When to Use Offline Install#

  • Brand new modem without APN provisioned (unable to access GitHub over cellular).
  • Restricted industrial networks blocking GitHub raw content.
  • Custom automated firmware builds and mass provisioning.

Downloading the Release Bundle#

From a computer with internet access, download the latest release tarball and SHA-256 checksum from GitHub:

Files needed:

  • qmanager-vX.Y.Z.tar.gz
  • qmanager-vX.Y.Z.tar.gz.sha256

Transferring to the Device (SCP/ADB)#

Over SCP (RM551E or Modem with SSH):#

Shell
# For RM551E (192.168.224.1):
scp qmanager-v0.1.35.tar.gz root@192.168.224.1:/tmp/

# For RM520N & SDX55/SDX6X modems (192.168.225.1):
scp qmanager-v0.1.35.tar.gz root@192.168.225.1:/tmp/

Over ADB (Qualcomm RM520N, RG501 & X5*/X6* Modems):#

Shell
adb push qmanager-v0.1.35.tar.gz /tmp/

Extracting and Running install.sh#

SSH or ADB into the device:

Shell
cd /tmp
# Verify SHA256 checksum
sha256sum qmanager-v0.1.35.tar.gz

# Extract bundle
mkdir -p /tmp/qmanager_install
tar -xzf qmanager-v0.1.35.tar.gz -C /tmp/qmanager_install
cd /tmp/qmanager_install

# Execute bundled installer
sh install.sh

The bundled install.sh script automatically copies the frontend static files, installs backend shell CGI scripts, configures permissions, and sets up service autorun.
